Petri Kemppinen to be Aurora Studios’ new CEO and Hanna Lajunen to be Head of Distribution

Finnish Aurora Studios, focusing on funding, developing, producing and distributing films and tv series, has appointed Petri Kemppinen as its new CEO. His extensive experience in the world of all things audiovisual includes stints at the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE, the Finnish Film Foundation and as CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond in Oslo.

Hanna Lajunen will be joining the Aurora Studios executive team as Head of Distribution. Hanna is currently working as the CEO of her own company Cinemanse, which specializes in importing quality films and animations. Aurora Studios and Cinemanse will be merged during the spring through an acquisition and Cinemanse will continue its operations as a subsidiary of Aurora.

Aurora Studios’ first films to be distributed are The Wait, directedby Aku Louhimies, Bordertown: Mural Murders, directedby Juuso Syrjä and Bubble, directed by Aleksi Salmenperä. Aurora’s first tv series production, a joint production with Rabbit Films, is Made in Finland, the six-part dramatized series depicting the rise of mobile phone company Nokia at the end of the 80s.
